We're at it again!
Plans for the June 9th, 2012 Alumni Reunion are under way! The 2009 event was such a success that the SHS Alumni Association is planning a similar event next summer!
Subcommittee's include:
- Publicity/Advertising
- Day Program
- Golf Tournament
- Evening Entertainment
- Infrastructure
- Transportation
- Food
- Security
- Merchandising
Activities Planned (To Date-subject to change)
- Golf Tournament – Saturday
- 5K Run – Saturday
- Kickball or similar activity – Saturday
- Music Through the Eras Reunion & Alumni Band / Choir (Saturday afternoon)
- Music / Entertainment for afternoon and through evening
- Car parade and show at high school
- Tour of 'old homes', buildings, cemetery (?etc.) – only outside with story telling about the history
- Pitch Tournament (Friday evening)
If you'd like to be part of the alumni reunion committee to help secure that the event is once again a success, just contact us and let us know which subcommitte you'd like to serve on.
SHS History Help!
Were putting together for this website some Savannah High School History.
We'd like to know when the 3 schools that have housed SHS were built and how long the High School met in each building. We're also looking for the best pictures that we can find of those buildings.
In addition, we're putting together a history of past Principals. What information can you give us regarding who served prior to R.C. Ramsey and how long did they serve. We'd like pictures of each of them, as well.
Perhaps you'd be willing to volunteer to scan old yearbook photos from the SHS Library or check out the archives of the Savannah Reporter.
If you have information, pictures, or want to volunteer for this project, we'd love to hear from you.

Old Yearbooks?
In doing our research we've found that there is no complete SHS yearbook collection.
We think it would be a great gesture if the the Alumni Association could help to finish out the Andrew County Museum's yearbook collection. In so doing, we would not simply expand our own resource base for further research on past principals and SHS history, but we would also help preserve the SHS pictorial record for future generations.

Listed above are the "missing yearbooks" that we've been able to locate and are donating to the museum. Please contact us and let us know if you're willing to give up your yearbook to the collection!
